Printable Christmas gift tags & wrapping paper set

Christmas is only a month away and in my books it means that it’s about time to start the preparations! I know there’s still time for the cooking and baking, but when you’re an usually busy adult then during the holiday season ( full of activities, obligations, parties and extra magic- and much more parenting effort then usually!) then you’re basically on the edge of a breakdown! Unless of course your start early, get your gifts ahead of time, wrap them and tag them right away and hide away before the real holiday rush starts!

So this year I decided to make my own printable Christmas gift tags- and some wrapping paper that goes with it, in an effort to :

  • always be ready to wrap a gift ( just press print and voila)
  • be more eco friendly ( I already have lots of paper at home, and I don’t need to buy any new wrapping paper or tags!)

I couldn’t be happier with this little printable set I created- it’s cheerful, joyful and perfect to mix an match! I made two shapes of tags for you, 9 different designs of tags, and 4 different wrapping paper sheets!

I printed everything on regular paper, and I just love how it turned out! My girls where helping me cut out the gift tags, we have put on some holiday music and with the snow outside it felt like christmas is only days away!

Clearly I’m obsessed with red, white and blue this season- also, everything hand lettered and cute! I hope you’ll like my little wrapping set as much as me and my girls we love it!

You can get the PDF file HERE – simply download it, print at home, cut out the tags and get wrapping with the wrapping paper sheets!

And make sure to share with me how you wrapped your gifts with my set – just tag me on your Instagram photos ( @joanna.anastasia_ ) I can’t wait to see how you’ll be using them!

Kitchen makeover reveal

Here’s a little secret: if I follow my heart it always leads me to the fridge! Because quite frankly, the kitchen is the true heart of our home! And any healthy breakfast, yummy snack or amazing Holiday feast, they always start right here: in the kitchen. Just like my daughter’s first cooking lessons: the art of scramble eggs, and the romantic dishes-cleaning with my hubby ( because once you’re a parent here’s where you catch up on your relationship). Oh and also the girls night in – well, no who am I kidding? It’s actually the middle-of-the-day  play date. Everything happens in the kitchen.

And even if the said heart of the home is as small as mine, life still revolves around the kitchen.

And it seems like during the Holiday season the kitchen is even more important then ever! Here’s where we bake cookies and decorate the gingerbread house, here’s where we pour the punch and serve our guests the vine, and here’s where we make our DIY from-the pantry gifts!

So here is how it used to look:

kitchen makeover- before

To improve the very essence of our everyday lives we decided it was about time to finally update our dated and not matching together appliances and to add open shelving to this small space! Our old dishwasher was white while the range and the fridge where in stainless steel. Every appliance was a different mark and on top of it, we were missing the over the range fan! And the classical kitchen cupboards just made the space look even smaller then it was.

When I was looking for the new kitchen appliances I knew I needed a good quality first, with the technology that helps families in their every day! And I must say, I we are more then happy now with all KitchenAid matching appliances!

And so here’s how we made our small kitchen feel bigger, and more practical :

So now our kitchen is ready to take on the load of the Christmas cooking, baking and washing! You can see it all and read all about the best appliances for small spaces here, in the new Hello Holiday guide. I’m also sharing my favorite DIY gift idea -made with the ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry- and more details of the makeover!

If you’re looking for Christmas kitchen and dining room inspiration, then I’m sure you’ll love our guide! It’s packed with the Holiday cheer!

I’m so happy to be a part of this years 4th Annual Handmade Holidays Blog Hop! This amazing idea was brought to life a couple of years ago while looking for hand made gift ideas. So here it is, a resource dedicated JUST to handmade gift ideas. With over 100 amazing, creative bloggers in the craft industry, as well as some cool product manufacturers, this Handmade Holidays Blog Hop is a plethora of inspiring gift ideas! And all of them you can actually make to give to your friends, family, and colleagues.

I invite you to Pin and bookmark these ideas for this holiday season and to use throughout the year! Each day of the hop features approximately 30 gift projects and you can “hop” from one blog to another to check them all out.

So now, let’s start with my handmade gift idea:

lemon & poppyseed goat milk soap !
This all natural, exfoliating, lemon & poppyseed soap bars are so easy to make, and make for a perfect little handmade gift.

Lemon poppyseed soap

All you need are these three ingredients :

Goat milk soap base
Lemon zest
Poppyseed

Lemon poppyseed soap

Start by cutting the soap base in to cubes. I used one third of the packaged ( 3 cups of soap base) for the first poppyseed layer, and then I used another one third for the lemon layer.

Lemon poppyseed soap

Melt your soap base in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir it, melt again for 30 seconds and stir again. Repeat until liquid.

Lemon poppyseed soap

Add lemon zest and poppy seeds, stir, and pour in your mould. I used a simple baking dish.

For a second layer repeat all of the above, just forget the poppy seeds, and double the lemon zest. I sprinkled some more poppy seeds on top, just because it’s more pretty like that :).

Lemon poppyseed soap

Give it around an hour to set, and then simply cut the pieces out, like you would a cake !

Lemon poppyseed soap

I think that these rustic, lemon & poppyseed soap bars are so pretty that they don’t need much gift wrap. Just a simple string and a piece of fresh spruce.

So my handmade gift is done, simply wrapped and handed with a hand made Christmas card . And I’m pretty sure that my friends and your friends will love these little lemon & poppyseed soaps, that feel and smell like they came from a very fancy spa!
