toilet paper roll

Rainy day toddler activity : paper roll animals

image

Even thought it’s summer, we still had couple of rainy days. I know, we could still go outside and look for snails and frogs, but somehow I didn’t really fell like it ;). Instead I took out from recycling some toilet paper rolls, paint and plastic eyes from dollar store.
And we got dirty with paint, our hands got sticky with glue, and we didn’t even notice when lunch time arrived :). If you would like to make one of these creations here is what you’ll need :

Toilet paper rolls
Paint
Glue
Plastic goggly eyes
Scissors

Start by painting paper rolls. I wanted one black, one white and two colourful, but they turned out kind of mixed. And I think it’s just fine :). My daughter wanted me to paint face on to some of them, so I did a squirrel and a dog ( or a rabbit, you choose ).

Cut stripes of paper roll for ears, and little triangles and half circles – they will make for a nose and paws:

Let your toddler glue the eyes, ears, nose and paws.

Now, are you ready for some role play ? Have fun with these ! 🙂

Easter chick, toddler paper roll craft

image

Here is another funny creature we made from toilet paper roll , a little chick, covered with foam. I’m not saying it’s the most beautiful chick, but it was fun , cheap and easy to make, and it occupied my toddler, while practicing some fine motor skills 🙂 . And since we once made a butterfly , she now had two friends to play with 🙂 .

All you need is :

Toilet paper roll
Foam sheets
Scissors
Glue

Wrap the yellow one around the paper roll, cut the shapes for eyes, nose, wings and legs. Let your little helper glue it all where it belongs :

Here is what we did today, dreaming of spring and real butterfly’s 🙂 Toilet paper crafts are such a classic, and this one is really cheap and fun to. I guess using different colors you could end up with a pretty bee 🙂
All you need is :

toilet paper roll
Tissue paper
Foam craft shapes ( we had flowers)
Glue
Scissors
Crayons

So, let your toddler glue all around the paper roll :

Easy valentines day toddler activity

Valentines toddler craft

This is so simple, that I almost feel embarrassed to tell you, but in case if like me you didn’t think about it before.. So guess what, toilet paper roll is actually a very versatile stamp ! And since we are still in the mood for valentine day crafts , here it is, a simple and fun activity for your child: toilet paper roll heart stamp:) My little girl had fun stamping and then painting with her fingers, so honestly we didn’t create nothing amazing, but she enjoyed her afternoon, and so did I 🙂

Toilet paper roll
Adhesive tape
Finger paint
Paper

Simply create heart shape, and tape it so it’ll hold while being manipulated by these little hands. Put a bit of paint on let’s say a plate, tray or anything , and let them stamp !
