Gift wrapping station

Gift wrapping station

One of the little things that eases up my holiday stress in making sure that all of my wrapping papers are all in one place and ready to be used! That’s why every year I try to set myself a gift wrapping station! It’s a real life saver during the busy holiday season!

And one of my early childhood memories, is sneaking on to my grandmother wrapping gifts, always last-minute on the Xmas eve, in her tiny little bedroom. She would keep all her gifts hidden there, underneath the bed, and the bed itself would be all covered in colorful papers, ribbons and gifts. And when she would spot me, hiding there behind the door, she would hush me out, saying she’s only helping Santa, since he’s so busy with everything else. And of course I would believe her.

So of curse, when my own kids became these little gift-searching creatures, me too I started hiding my gifts underneath my bed.

And this year, after may bedroom makeover, I decided to  to organize my gift wrapping station in my bedroom! Especially that not only I have space underneath my bed, for all those big and long wrapping paper rolls, but my new Leon’s bed has 6 drawers too! Perfect for all my wrapping essentials and all off the gifts!

So starting in early November, I collect all of my wrapping papers in one place: the old and recycled, the new and freshly bought, and the hand-made and whimsical. I separate the ribbons, and keep all of that colorful mess in the drawers underneath my bed. And since I like dong my Xmas shopping ahead of time and I usually aim for having all of my gifts wrapped in early December (so I don’t stress about them any more) every time I get a new gift, I wrap it in my bedroom right away , and store in the drawers until Xmas!

I’m sharing even more tips on make Xmas shopping and gift wrapping easier in Hello Holiday guide! Just go the the page 107 and click on the photo to read more!

Stocking stuffers for entire family

Great ideas for stocking stuffers for entire family, on a bugdet and all biught in one place! Great time and money saver for Christmas!

Every year it’s the same struggle: the Christmas shopping! While some love any excuse to spend money and shop, for others it’s manly stress and trouble. And the socking stuffers tend to be one of the most difficult to shop for. Especially if you want to stay in a budget!

But while I’m usually in the group who loves to shop, I must admit that staying within my budget is a difficult task for me while Christmas shopping. And what’s even more difficult, it’s finding fun and inexpensive gifts for all the men in my family!

And even though I don’t have a real mantel, and even though Christmas shopping on a budget is rather a challenge to say the least, I do love hanging the stockings for my daughters to see! Because hanging stockings just makes Christmas more magical, don’t you think?

Because I simply love it when I can find all that I need, for everyone on my list, in one place and all on a budget! Including cute monogrammed stockings!

So I have come up with this simple recipe for a perfect stocking:

1. Something practical
2. Something to eat
3. Something fun and/or to play with

And so while following this simple recipe I have easily found stuffers for everyone on my list:

Both of my daughters love little dolls, plushies and of course sweets. So you can imagine my excitement when I found this set of little dollies for only 8$! Also, when I think about something practical for kids, I always think about a game or a craft supply that they can use for months. Like crayons or playing cards. Oh and of course a movie for these long winter evenings ( for less than 7$!)

Stocking stuffers for her and for him:

Stocking stuffer for entire family and on for less then 30$

While shopping for stocking stuffers for her, I always try to think about the little life pleasures, because let’s face it, most of us don’t really have time to slow down and relax! So finding little gifts that can help with that, is definitely my goal! So a hair mask, good lip balm set, some lovely chocolates, and pretty warm socks are my choice. And my best find: this gorgeous wallet for 10$!

And I even managed to find great stocking stuffers for him: practical NHL socks, and earphones, some good quality chocolates and a fun Star Wars mug! Now that was easy!

So this year I’m hanging my stocking stuffers a bit early, since my shopping is all done!
