Pink coat three ways

Pink coat three ways

Style after kids is like a circus spectacle; a lot od balancing and a lot of behind the scenes effort. Because while spending lots of time on self-care before kids was what used to be natural, life with kids means that you have approximately 10 minutes to take a shower, do your hair and makeup, plan your outfit and get dressed before someone comes in crying. And usually it’s actually 5 minutes.

So having a throw-on stylish piece, a finishing touch that can transform any look in to a put together outfit is what makes mom life so much easier. And more stylish.

So for the colder months, this one simple piece in my wardrobe is a pink coat. Now, last year, when I first saw pink coats in magazines I wasn’t really sure if they are practical enough for my busy life But I was wrong. They are as practical as a pretty bright lipstick taking the attention away from the dark circles and the less then perfect manicure!

It goes great with dresses and jeans, and even if I don’t have time do my hair ( that is most of the time) it still helps me look put together.

So my first way of wearing it is with mid length dark dresses and sparkly flats. I especially love how dark green looks with this candy pink!

My second go to look now, is sneakers, pale jeans and a cream flowy shirt finished by the pink coat of course.

And then there is also the pink on pink look: with the pink pleated skirt, white shirt, pink little purse, and the pink coat!

Of course we will see if our Canadian winter will be warm enough for me to keep on wearing this favourite pink coat of mine! Becasue if not, then I need to find a big pink puffy parka asap!

Cold weather must haves that won’t break the bank

Cold weather must haves that wont breake the bank

With cold weather just around the corner it’s time to bundle up, cozy up and refresh that winter wardrobe. And it I belive it doesn’t need to be expensive nor complicated!

Now, I find that shopping for kids clothes is especially hard, because finding cute pieces that don’t break the bank is close to impossible these days! Everything seems to be so expensive, right?! And with more than one child at home the change of seasons can be really expensive!

That’s why I was so exited to discover the all new Giant Tiger Store in Greenfield Village, with their amazing kids section! Though I must admit I have passed more than once through the home section and of course woman fashion finds!

I’ve seen so many cute and cosy finds for kids, and I couldn’t help myself and got on a quite of a shopping spree; but without spending too much!

So first, I got this cute and warm mermaid tail blanket for my Lili, for only 16$, that she’s totally obsessed with! And then I got the sweetest, softest blouse and leggings bear set for my Rose, that she want’s to wear everyday now!

And of course, I’m a sucker for cozy and warm sweaters, so when I fund this super soft gray one, and for that amazing price, I knew I had to get it! I love how I can style it with jeans or with a dress! And can you believe it was only 20$? It looks like a sweater form one of the expensive stores, don’t you think?

And then in the home section I found this scented candle and I almost brought home new drapes and throws ( but I have so many that they don’t fit in my closets anymore.. But if you need new drapes, check them out here !).  The Coconut Cream candle smells amazing, and is so perfect for the cold days ahead! Makes me feel so cozy at home now.

So, if you’re thinking that updating your and your kids winter wardrobe is complicated, and if you think it has to be expensive, then think twice! because you can get it all, plus some cute finds for your home, in one of the Giant Tiger Stores near you and without breaking the bank!

Why you need a ballerina skirt

Ballerina skirt

Since I became a mom I changed my outlook on a lot of things including my body. I understood how truly a amazing our bodied are, and how unimportant are the societies standards of beauty. It took me awhile, but I finally realized that instead of trying to fit my body in to a mold of cultural unrealistic standards, I just need to love it and embrace it as it is. And dress it with pleasure and creativity without thinking much of how it could be dressed once looking thinner or younger.

That’s why I decided to share more fashion ideas with you, since I believe we all need to see more real life woman having fun with fashion, embracing their bodies and dressing in whatever makes them happy! And less photoshopped unrealistic images showing us how we should look, am I right?!

So today I want to share with you my new must have- a tulle ballerina skirt! Seriously, its a wardrobe staple, comfortable, fluffy, embracing these mom-hips and a muffin top- and cute and flirty for any outing or date night.

Here I styled mine with a soft button down shirt in white and blue stripes and pretty nude block heel with a simple toe strap and just a little bit of sparkle! And a little pink crossover purse, because pink on pink is always a win!

And when I’m out brunching, I like to wear it with flat sandals and a simple white tee, or snickers and a black tee. Seriously, just any tee and this skirt, and I feel like I can conquer the world!

Next time when you’re out shopping, and you’re not quite sure what to buy for the evening out with friends, try a tulle skirt! You’ll love how comfortable and versatile it is!

Little girls want to move and dance and run, and they need to feel comfortable in their clothes! And the little girls that I know, they also love colours and little animals, sweet and fun patterns and of course, their favourite characters on their clothes. Believe me, I tried dressing my daughters in trendy grey, black and white clothes, but truth to be told, my older one, she loves colour. And my younger one, well all she wants, is to copy her sister!

So I was beyond exited when I got to visit the all new Giant Tiger Store in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, and found such a great kid section, with only soft cotton, lots of sweet dresses and lots of Peppa Pig prints! It’s a brand new store, and I was so surprised to see such a vast choice in all the departments!

Now, of course I had to stop by the decor section, and I found lot’s of choices for decorating your outdoor space too – and got myself the prettiest outdoor rug ever!  Stay tuned, as I’ll share it on my Instagram once the weather will cooperate!

And of course, I used this occasion to do small grocery shopping too, as they have really everything that you need.

So now Lili want’s to only wear clothes with Peppa Pig on them and these super soft leggings, and I’m wearing my jeans dress from Lily Morgan on repeat, because it’s so comfy and diverse!

Though my biggest joy was shopping for little girls outfits ( I even started wishing I had another baby, as their baby selection is the cutest ever!) and founding so many things that my Lili will actually like- for such good prices.

Spring looks for less

spring looks for less

Spring is finally here! And for us living in Canada it finally means we can switch those winter boots for a cute pair of peep toes and big furry coats for light bomber jackets!

Though to be honest, fashion was something I disliked since having babies: I didn’t fit in the “perfect body” standards, suddenly I got a muffin top and I had to buy nursing-friendly tops only ( at least I’m over with that part for now!). And I had so many other expenses! So I lost the pleasure in dressing all together.

But since I try to be more mindful in my everyday, I realized I can still find outfits that’ll make me feel good. And that dressing our bodies is also an important part of self-care! So if you too feel stuck, I say start with the little things that’ll make you smile, look for colors that make your soul sing, and accessories that make you want to go out!

So I have partnered with Giant Tiger to bring you two spring looks: for less. Two looks in which I feel ready for spring and happy, and I’m sure you would too!

I just love the details on that blouse! And this long skirt the powder pink shade of the season is the most comfortable and soft piece I have tried in a while! And you just can’t go wrong with florals , pink and a bit of bohemian flair for spring! Also, bomber jackets are the bomb of the spring!(Pun intended!) And Giant Tiger has so many to chose from!

And I love how spring fashion this year is full of bohemian prints and accessories! Be it that white shirt, or these earnings, I’m so happy I could have find so many lovely bohemian options!

And as for this tunic, it’s my new go-to choice! Thanks to that belt, it gives you the illusion of waist, while being most comfortable piece of summer clothing! I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing it throughout the summer with sleeves rolled up too! And my new favorite: this blue cross body bag! I just love the punch of color ton the strap! And it goes with literally everything!

Honestly, I know too well the struggle of dressing that mama-body, and of staying within a budget! But I also know now, that our bodies are the vessels of our souls, and that dressing yourselves in comfortable, and pretty clothes is such an important part of self-care. And when it can be done on a budget, then I call it a win-win!

Can you afford a spring adventure?

spring adventure

I believe the beginning of spring is the time for adventure, exploring new places, and leaving the coziness of home. It’s the time for discovering the outdoors once again, enjoying the fresh air, and reconnecting with nature! Except that in Canada, spring comes late and often teases everyone for a couple of weeks with sunshine, and then it snows on repeat. And when you have young, growing kids, spring is also the time to shop for new clothes!

Most of you know I’m very budget-conscious, but what you may not know is that I’m also a sucker for soft cotton and sweet prints. And my kids will wear anything as long as it’s girly, comfortable, and easy for them play and run around in.

So in effort to enjoy the first few spring days, we went to the Montreal Botanical Garden. It was a perfect day for the girls to also try on new dresses from Giant Tiger. The dresses are soft, cute, with fun prints and in my daughter’s favorite colours! And hear me out mamas: for five dollars each! This spring shopping left me with extra money to go out afterwards on a small adventure with my kids! At these very affordable prices I don’t feel like I spent too much on new clothes that now we should just stay home and stop using credit cards!

spring adventure

And while some adventures inspire you more than others, the funny thing about kids is that you never know what will strike their imagination the most. Next day, after my daughters ran around the cacti and palm trees in the Botanical Garden, they kept telling me how they loved these big plants. So I made a little cactus colouring page for them, and they ended up spending all morning on it! If you’d like to print it for your kids, you can download a free printable version by clicking here .

Also, can you tell how happy they were to be wearing new spring dresses? These two sweet and girly dresses are also from Giant Tiger, and for only five dollars each!

And if you’d like a little inspiration on how to style them for special occasions, a hair bow and some little girl jewelry would be just enough to transform these cute spring dresses!

Now, with these prices, everyone can afford a spring adventure! And so, where will you go?
