Style after kids is like a circus spectacle; a lot od balancing and a lot of behind the scenes effort. Because while spending lots of time on self-care before kids was what used to be natural, life with kids means that you have approximately 10 minutes to take a shower, do your hair and makeup, plan your outfit and get dressed before someone comes in crying. And usually it’s actually 5 minutes.
So having a throw-on stylish piece, a finishing touch that can transform any look in to a put together outfit is what makes mom life so much easier. And more stylish.
So for the colder months, this one simple piece in my wardrobe is a pink coat. Now, last year, when I first saw pink coats in magazines I wasn’t really sure if they are practical enough for my busy life But I was wrong. They are as practical as a pretty bright lipstick taking the attention away from the dark circles and the less then perfect manicure!
It goes great with dresses and jeans, and even if I don’t have time do my hair ( that is most of the time) it still helps me look put together.
So my first way of wearing it is with mid length dark dresses and sparkly flats. I especially love how dark green looks with this candy pink!
My second go to look now, is sneakers, pale jeans and a cream flowy shirt finished by the pink coat of course.
And then there is also the pink on pink look: with the pink pleated skirt, white shirt, pink little purse, and the pink coat!
Of course we will see if our Canadian winter will be warm enough for me to keep on wearing this favourite pink coat of mine! Becasue if not, then I need to find a big pink puffy parka asap!
Since I became a mom I changed my outlook on a lot of things including my body. I understood how truly a amazing our bodied are, and how unimportant are the societies standards of beauty. It took me awhile, but I finally realized that instead of trying to fit my body in to a mold of cultural unrealistic standards, I just need to love it and embrace it as it is. And dress it with pleasure and creativity without thinking much of how it could be dressed once looking thinner or younger.
That’s why I decided to share more fashion ideas with you, since I believe we all need to see more real life woman having fun with fashion, embracing their bodies and dressing in whatever makes them happy! And less photoshopped unrealistic images showing us how we should look, am I right?!
So today I want to share with you my new must have- a tulle ballerina skirt! Seriously, its a wardrobe staple, comfortable, fluffy, embracing these mom-hips and a muffin top- and cute and flirty for any outing or date night.
Here I styled mine with a soft button down shirt in white and blue stripes and pretty nude block heel with a simple toe strap and just a little bit of sparkle! And a little pink crossover purse, because pink on pink is always a win!
And when I’m out brunching, I like to wear it with flat sandals and a simple white tee, or snickers and a black tee. Seriously, just any tee and this skirt, and I feel like I can conquer the world!
Next time when you’re out shopping, and you’re not quite sure what to buy for the evening out with friends, try a tulle skirt! You’ll love how comfortable and versatile it is!
I believe the beginning of spring is the time for adventure, exploring new places, and leaving the coziness of home. It’s the time for discovering the outdoors once again, enjoying the fresh air, and reconnecting with nature! Except that in Canada, spring comes late and often teases everyone for a couple of weeks with sunshine, and then it snows on repeat. And when you have young, growing kids, spring is also the time to shop for new clothes!
Most of you know I’m very budget-conscious, but what you may not know is that I’m also a sucker for soft cotton and sweet prints. And my kids will wear anything as long as it’s girly, comfortable, and easy for them play and run around in.
So in effort to enjoy the first few spring days, we went to the Montreal Botanical Garden. It was a perfect day for the girls to also try on new dresses from Giant Tiger. The dresses are soft, cute, with fun prints and in my daughter’s favorite colours! And hear me out mamas: for five dollars each! This spring shopping left me with extra money to go out afterwards on a small adventure with my kids! At these very affordable prices I don’t feel like I spent too much on new clothes that now we should just stay home and stop using credit cards!
And while some adventures inspire you more than others, the funny thing about kids is that you never know what will strike their imagination the most. Next day, after my daughters ran around the cacti and palm trees in the Botanical Garden, they kept telling me how they loved these big plants. So I made a little cactus colouring page for them, and they ended up spending all morning on it! If you’d like to print it for your kids, you can download a free printable version by clicking here .
Also, can you tell how happy they were to be wearing new spring dresses? These two sweet and girly dresses are also from Giant Tiger, and for only five dollars each!
And if you’d like a little inspiration on how to style them for special occasions, a hair bow and some little girl jewelry would be just enough to transform these cute spring dresses!
Now, with these prices, everyone can afford a spring adventure! And so, where will you go?

I was looking a long time for a perfect mom bag. The type to fit it all : endless snacks, wipes , change of clothes for my both daughters, water bottle and a sippy cup, a couple of toys for a long car drive and my own belongings of course!
My girls are out of diapers now, but as a mom of young kids, I still need a diaper bag to be honest. It’s just that I didn’t rally want to carry my old and stained diaper bag anymore! I needed a chic version of a diaper bag, something that wouldn’t get me the I’m-sorry-you-lost-your-style-when-becoming-a-mom look! But as you might already know, it’s really difficult to find a bag that’s both practical and pretty!
And then I found this one. Newlie diaper bag. It’s big enough to fit it all. It comes with a little changing pad, it has a pocket to keep the snacks cool, and two bottle holders! It’s basically a perfect diaper bag in disguise!
This summer I was carrying my Newlie diaper bag everywhere with me. And here’s what I’ve learned:
1. A perfect mom bag is more then a simple diaper bag.
One bag that works both for raspberry picking, restaurant outings and road trips. Perfect for both the baby essentials as bigger kids things. Looking like a perfect accessory and yet practically fitting all the things. It’s more of a life saver if you ask me!
2. Organizing mom essentials.
A place for a changing pad? Yes. Snacks stored in a coller-type pocket? Yes. Bottle holders? Yes! Zipped pockets? Yes and Yes!
3. A place for everything.
I think we can all relate- a crying baby or a screaming toddler in one hand, and a messy bag full of things where you can’t find nothing when you need it, right? Well, honestly I’ve just learned it doesn’t have to be that way!
So now, even though I’m definitely not a fashionista, I kind of feel like a pretty well organized chic-mom!
And if you happen to be a Canadian resident, you can now find these bags at ChaptersIndigo.
