Green and gold neutral Holiday mantel

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us- time to deck the halls, bake the cookies and create all that magic that moms create every year!

Next week I’ll be sharing with you my Christmas tour with all the little magical corners I created for my kids; our advent calendar and hot chocolate station and so on; but today I want to show you the place that I always start with when it comes to seasonal decorating- our fireplace mantel!

I had this vision of winter wonderland meets whimsy and neutral vibes, so I went for green and gold tones mixed with vintage and thrifted finds! The green and gold neutral mantel is a center of my decor- and of course, the biggest trend is this season- the asymmetrical evergreen garland!

To be honest I’m laughing while typing this because I had no idea how popular this trend would be this year- I just really wanted to try this look and with all my faux garlands I already had I just decided to go for it! Only to realize it now, while looking at my talented blogging friends that we have all used that trend in our own way while decorating this year! The trick to achieve a beautiful and full hanging garland is to use command hooks, and lots of different garlands layered one on top of another ( mine are all faux because it’s less messy and cheaper over the years as I’m re using my existing garlands every year)

• candle sticks
• thrifted winter or holiday themed art
• mirror
• greenery
• something sparkly
• more candles
