Fun and colorful thrifted Spring Decor in three easy steps

It’s finally officially spring and even though we had some snow in here Montreal I am channeling that warm weather I hope to see soon outside with my decor at home! Today I partnered with my blogging friends to bring to you more thrifted decor ideas- I was invited by Ann from Dabbling & Decorating to join their Thrifting with the Gals monthly event and let me tell you, these ladies are pros at thrifting and repurposing!

As you might know I’m all about fun and colorful interiors year round but somehow I always feel that my thrifted collection is the best for spring! So today I’ll show you how you too can add more fun and colour to YOUR home with thrifted items in three easy to follow steps – and then make sure to check some more amazing tips for thrifting for spring from these talented creators: Ann at Dabbling & Decorating, Kristin at White Arrows Home, Robyn at Robyn’s French Nest , Lora at Create and Ponder & Rachel at The Pond’s Farmhouse !

My thrifted spring decor always starts with my kitchen shelves- as my kitchen is the heart of our home this is the space that I change up the most. I rotate everything in here as my collection grows and as I use items from these shelves to decorate our dining table and our living room.

My number one item that I always thrift and that adds an instant vibe to any spring vignette is a vintage pitcher! I found this one with the bow two weeks ago in my local thrift store for 5$ and I instantly knew it would be perfect for spring!

When setting an easter table this year I decided to channel my inner eclectic british cottage vibes with mixing and matching my thrifted plates and fun ceramic items- which brings me to the secod spring item that I look for year round when thrifting- veggie shaped ceramics! Be it cabbage plates or corn shaped salt shakers these vintage veggie-style ceramics are perfect for fun and colorful tablescapes!

Another thing I use more in spring are thrifted vintage table naps- they add that old european charm and an instant pop of colour! I decided to layer two of my recent thrift finds here for an even more layered look- and I used another recent thrifted item- the blue and yellow table lines- I got six of them for a whooping price of 3$ !

Of course all of my vintage china teacups I used here ar also thrifted- I just love using it in my everyday life and in my seasonal decor- and the hunt for the unique and colorful patterns is my lifelong obsession now!

When it comes to my living room I decided to add more colour & fun here with this thrifted pink and white bed sheet – that I layered on my sofa for a relaxed british cottage look! I know it’s a bit unusual but I really wanted the look of a striped sofa but without the price tag !

And as for the coffee table decor- I’m all for seasonal switch ups and colorful candles! Thrifted candles of course- especially vintage colorful ones- they are another great thing to keep on the lookout when thrifting!

I hope my colorful spring decor have inspired you to add more colour to your home this spring too!

And here are my tips for thrifting to acheave that fun layered look in your home:

  1. Look for original and unique vintage pitchers– they are great for adding charm to your kitchen, holding a bouquet on a kitchen counter or serving water during your eater brunch!
  2. Give vintage vegetable shaped ceramic a try– they are not meant to be taken seriously- think of them as a joke that brightens the mod- and your tablescape!
  3. Start thrifting vintage naps and table linens– they’re a great way to easily add pattern and colour to your home decor!

  4. Love your colorful, happy decor vibe, Joanna! And yes, I’ve been into pottery veggies this year, too. Just thrifted a couple more cabbage wear pieces and was so excited I had to create a display in the kitchen cabinets:) I’m in MN and although we’ve basically had no snow all winter, we’re forecasted to get a foot by tomorrow; knew March was going to go out like a lion:( But it’s pretty and makes my house so bright (and we need the moisure). Thanks for joining us this month!
