Paper puppet theatre
My daughter loves puppets. It may be a family issue:). When I was little I used to love going to the Puppet Theatre. It was a magical place, in a baroque style building next to an old park by the river. You get the picture ? Magical. So couple of days ago, when it was raining, I decided to make some easy paper puppets. Since there is no Puppet Theatre around here, we can play that we have one at home! Here is what we used :
Colourful paper sheets
Wooden sticks
Plastic eyes
Empty Kleenex box
Glue
Scissors
I drew a simple teddy head on a black sheet of paper, cut it out, and then give to my daughter to glue the mouth, nose (small paper triangles) and plastic eyes.
Than she glued the wooden stick.
Then I cut another three triangles : one for the foxes head, and two for the ears:
And it was up to Lili to glue it all together :
Then I took the empty Kleenex box, and I’ve cut off one side and the top. Then we glued the craft paper around it. My daughter choose the colours 🙂 I’ve cut the paper.  It was team work :).
And here she is, in her room, plying a “Teddy and a little fox from the woods” 🙂 !
We have so much fun pretending that we run a puppet theatre ! What other animals would you like to have in the paper puppet theatre? I have a feeling that soon we’ll be adding some new characters to our play !
I love how easy this is! Pinning for when my little nieces and nephews come over to visit 😉
