Coastal inspired summer mantle styling

Welcome in summer seasonal simplicity series, where with my blogging friends we share our homes and summer ideas! Today- it’s time for mantle styling!

“Look at that sea, girls–all silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldn’t enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds.”
― Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Just as much as I love L.M.Montgomery’s books, I love sea and everything connected to it- the smell, the colours and the textures of it! So every year around the same time, in the beginning of June, I gather decor pieces in different shades of blue, and I find place for my sea inspired art.

This year my inspiration was even more detailed- imagine a little cottage by the sea, with a flower garden in the front, where the sat sits in the shade of the flowering shrub, from where you can feel the smell of the ocean and see the waves- that’s the vibe I wanted to feel in my living room and around my mantle!

So I went for green plants, fresh art, blue books, candles, my own sea painting, and lots of white touches and voila, a coastal inspired summer mantle !

I also switched my accent chairs around the house and brought this simple & light cottage style chair in here, for the front of the mantle. I think it evokes a sea cottage vibes best!

Now make sure to check my friends beautiful summer mantles!
